1967 GTO - March 2014

Rust Repair Job

This GTO came in for a trunk pan replacement - which quickly escalated to also needing trunk extensions build, and lower rear quarters replaced. While we were in there, we rebuild the entire front and rear suspension with polygraphite bushings and new components, and changed all the old rubber body mount bushings with polygraphite. The convertible top needed and got all new weatherstripping, while the door hinges were rebuilt, and the windows adjusted to keep everything lined up and the wind noise down.

It arrived with not much original trunk left - so what was left was cut out and grinded to bare metal. The trunk extensions were rotted away, revealing poor quarter panel replacement in the past (just new panels braised over the rusted panels).

Nice new trunk floors spot welded just like the factory did - seamlessly. Quarters prepped and in primer - ready for paint later in the spring.
