1972 Chevy C-10 - March 2014

Clean Cab

This truck came in with the intention of swapping cabs, adding a few new parts, and getting it back on the road - of course that snowballed. In the end, it got a cab from another truck, new roof skin and rockers, new fenders and hood, new bed floor and tailgate, and an entirely new interior. Only the cab and inside of the fenders were painted now - the rest will come later.

In the beginning it didn't look all that bad actually, except for the hidden rust, most of the mounting bolts missing, and completely missing cab mounts.

The replacement cab - needed roof skin and rockers. Firewall was welded up and smoothed for a Vintage Air system.

Bed received patches in the corners, new wheelwells, floor and tailgate.  Rear suspension was loose - as in all the bolts!! Sway bar had bolts too small so rearend was moving back and forth - all that was fixed. Front fenders and grill removed.

When the new cab was painted, we rolled it outside, lifted off the old and set in place the new, then lined it all up.  Exterior finished - new cab, fenders and cowl hood.

Engine bay was rewired and cleaned up quite a bit. Vintage Air system installed, and MSD ignition rewired.

Everything inside was new - except for the steering wheel. All new carpet, door panels, headliner, Custom Autosound stereo, new gauge panel with Tach and Vacuum, new houndstooth seat cover, etc.
